Job description

Job Overview

In performing day-to-day routine tasks, prepare finished products for shipment or storage following established shipping guidelines. Using a basic knowledge of proper inventory procedures, perform a combination of clerical tasks to support inventory control. Perform work according to company and department guidelines. May assist in other duties as assigned.

A Day In The Life

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Shipping:

  • Print out the morning report.
  • Print out shippers and highlight special instructions.
  • Pull finished goods for shipping (verify part number, serial number, quantity, firm number if needed, and smart stream number).
  • Package product.
  • Work overtime as needed.

Receiving:

  • Receive deliveries.
  • Process packing slip data in the system.
  • Update product location after processing (quality inspection or dock to stock).
  • Work overtime as needed.

What will help you thrive in this role?

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior experience in a similar position is required.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Ability to compare shipping documents with products to ensure correct shipments.
  • Familiarity with manifest systems.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Knowledge of electronic & mechanical components.
  • Understanding of inventory control is a plus.

Equipment & Tools:

  • Computer terminal for data entry, calculator, electronic scale, flat cart or hand truck, electronic reel counter, ladder with handrails.
  • Instapak 901/970 foaming system.
  • Various maintenance tools including hammer, drill press, screwdriver, plunger, wrench, paint brushes/rollers, small power tools, etc.
