Qualifications

2nd shift schedule: Monday - Friday, 2pm - 10pm.

Position Responsibilities
  1. Shipping: Provide continual direction for optimal order flow, including managing daily order priorities to meet service goals, spot auditing customer orders for accuracy, proper carton stacking, special handling, and labeling requirements.
  2. Produce shipping documentation: Generate Bills of Lading (BOLs), shipping manifests, and confirm shipments. Manage floor space and outbound routing, ensuring accurate picking, scanning, stacking, and staging of cartons and skids during order fulfillment.
  3. Safety and compliance: Verify the safety of all docked trailers, including chocks, dock plates, and trailer flooring, prior to loading. Ensure proper loading and placarding of outbound trailers, and enforce safety policies and housekeeping practices.
  4. Receiving: Coordinate incoming truckload deliveries with schedulers and planners to ensure dock availability and manage delivery priorities. Ensure correct scanning and storage of products per WMS locator system rules. Verify incoming orders for accuracy and handle special requirements before processing.
  5. Carrier performance and problem-solving: Provide management with information on carrier issues such as damages or shortages. Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations.
  6. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience as a Material Handler in a distribution center.
  • Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Computer literacy including WMS and Microsoft Office.
  • Forklift certification/authorization.
  • Knowledge of supply-chain logistics and carrier routing.
  • Understanding of safety programs and emergency plans.
  • Willingness to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read labels and documentation.
  • Cooperative attitude and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to perform shipping or receiving functions, including specific tasks outlined.
