SUMMARY

Responsible for loading and unloading trucks. Filling customer orders, shipping/receiving orders, and stocking/tracking of inventory. Responsible for the processing and accuracy of shipments and related shipping records.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Loading and unloading trucks.

  • Open shipping freight by using hand tools.

  • Record all damaged freight and report same to the supervisor.

  • Maintain records of all received and shipped items, who, where and how it was distributed, signed, and dated documentation.

  • Scan barcodes of all receiving so the data information will be entered in the WMS.

  • Scan orders filled in the receiving area so the data information will be entered in the WMS.

  • Batch all receiving information in MS Great Plains (GP).

  • Check/Proof all purchase orders for accuracy against receipts and report any errors with quantities, pricing, etc.

  • Contact all individuals via email when items arrive for pick up.

  • Barcode and bag inventory if required, items received into the warehouse.

  • Enter all receiving shipments in the WMS. Complete receivable paperwork and distribute it to accounting and customer service accordingly.

  • Perform physical inventory counts.

  • Maintain record keeping for all receiving paperwork and time needed to do the job.

  • Coordinate and provide support with employees and/or other department to resolve receiving issues.

  • Maintain safety and housekeeping procedures.

  • Help preform 5S audit monthly.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 2- 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to obtain the Dangerous Good and Forklift Certification within 3 months of employment. Experience using Great Plains (GP) and Warehouse Management System (WMS) is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to drive forklift / Wave; use hand tools; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
