Job description

Overview

Our growing company is looking to hire a Shipping & Receiving Coordinator. In this role, you will transport incoming and outgoing materials to designated areas as assigned. Operate forklift, electrical hoist or other power-driven equipment to load or move materials. Load or unload material onto or from pallets, trays or shelves. Process required paperwork. Perform preventive maintenance such as: daily vehicle inspection, recharging batteries or replacing liquefied propane gas (LP) tank.

Responsibilities
  • Compare identifying information and count, weigh or measure items in shipments to verify against records.
  • Determine method of shipment.
  • Affix shipping labels or stencil shipping information on cartons.
  • Assemble containers or select pre-assembled ones.
  • Insert items into containers and secure products to pallets.
  • Label crates or containers with shipping information and instructions.
  • Inspect outgoing shipments for compliance with specifications.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials.
  • Use lift truck or hand truck to move shipments.
  • Operate powered lift trucks to load freight onto trucks.
  • Perform necessary computer transactions related to shipping and receiving.
  • Operate weight scales and digital counters.
  • Unpack and examine incoming shipments, record shortages, and coordinate with shippers for damages.
  • Route items to appropriate departments.
  • Maintain inventory of receiving materials and supplies.
  • Weigh materials or products and record weights.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
