GenCorr, a TRG company and affiliate of Schwarz Partners is currently seeking a Shipping & Receiving Coordinator (10:00 AM – 6:00 PM) to support our Alsip, IL facility. The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator has responsibility for the daily activities in the Shipping and Receiving Department to ensure that products are shipped in a timely manner in accordance with shipping documents and instructions. The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator also oversees and directs the overall loading and unloading of products and efficient movement of goods in the warehouse.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION

• Oversee and direct incoming and outgoing shipping activities, including verification and record-keeping functions, to ensure proper material handling, accuracy, completeness and satisfactory condition of shipments, and compliance with shipping specifications.
• Coordinate and direct the workforce by establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships with staff, developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, providing guidance to employees to sustain morale, efficiency, harmony, and high productivity to accomplish tasks and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Analyze problems, evaluate, and recommend best solutions.
• Study, control and maintain efficient records of incoming items, shipping notices, bills of lading, work schedules and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules and deadlines. Communicates with appropriate recipients for timely and efficient action.
• Develop, establish, and implement systems and procedures to improve the day-to-day activities in the shipping and receiving department.
• Inspect, determine, and implement space requirements for finished products in trailers to ensure products will not be damaged during shipment.
• Inspect incoming materials and products for defects and notifies appropriate parties for proper handling.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Comply with company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including federal and/or state required environmental systems, OSHA Safety and Health rules, fire and electrical safety codes and manuals, and standard operating procedures.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Additional duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• HS Diploma (or GED) or higher.
• Experience in material handling, raw and finished goods management.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• Experience with handling retail, POP display and custom packaging.
• Knowledge of various paperboard stocks, board grade combinations, POP displays and printing processes.
• Knowledge of box plant machinery and tooling.

• Must be proficient in MS office programs.
