Location Description

Michael Foods, Inc. located in Gaylord, Minnesota is Minnesota's Healthy Heartland! Gaylord is located in south central Minnesota about an hour west of the Twin Cities and 35 minutes from Mankato, Hutchinson, and New Ulm. As the County Seat, Gaylord is the "Hub of Sibley County." Our location produces liquid egg, hardcook egg, and precooked egg such as scrambled, patties and omelets.

Responsibilities

Starting Wage: $20.50/Hour
Shift Differential: $2.50/Hour
Hours: 6 PM - 6:15 AM
Schedule: 2,2,3

POSITION SUMMARY:
Unload trucks and put incoming material away with forklift. Supply Aseptic (liquid egg department) with their packaging materials. Help with cycle counts and month ending counts of ingredients and packaging. Help with UPS and FedEx outgoing packages and deliver incoming packages. Load trucks with finished goods using stand up forklift.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Supply Aseptic department with their packaging materials.
2. Help with UPS and FedEx outgoing and incoming packages daily. Make sure that accounting gets all the paperwork for UPS and FedEx.
3. Help with monthly inventory and assist accounting with any questions they may have about inventory counts.
4. Notify Accounting and purchasing agent of any damages or credit material.
5. Receiving responsibilities.
6. Inspect all inbound product.
7. Verify counts of all inbound product.
8. Use trailer locks at all times.
9. Inspect all inbound pallets and document quality of pallets and product on Inspection Report.
10. Ticket and verify counts and quality of all inbound product frozen, fresh & packaging materials.
11. General warehouse duties including keeping warehouse clean and orderly.
12. Help with rotation of inventory to ensure that the oldest product is used first.
13. Practice all safety procedures.
14. Operate fork truck in a safe and efficient manner.
15. Maintain daily log sheets as required, such as forklift inspection sheets.
16. Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
17. Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
18. Responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality of MFI products.
19. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
2. One to three months related experience and/or training experience preferred in a warehouse setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3. The successful completion of Powered Industrial Truck training program and passing the forklift certification.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

1. Ability to read a limited number of two-and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words in English and between series of numbers.
2. Ability to print and speak simple sentences in English.
3. Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
4. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
5. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral form.
6. Ability to deal with problems involving one concrete variable in standardized situations.
7. Computer knowledge or the ability to learn the following computer programs: Excel, Outlook, and SAP.
8. Ability to speak effectively on the phone or before groups of customers and/or employees of our organization.

The pay range for this position is $19.50 to $23.50 per hour.
