GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

This position serves as the main point of contact for vendors and visitors to the WSH Storeroom. It performs a variety of tasks to ensure packages, supplies, equipment, and fixed assets are organized, maintained, and delivered to designated areas of the hospital. The role requires organized and thoughtful consideration to maintain the inventory and fixed assets systems at the hospital, promoting efficient care for patients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Manage inventory through receipt, storage, issue, and accountability of all equipment, materials, and commodities.
  2. Maintain books or accounts, distribute credits and debits, produce reports, and record payments.
  3. Supervise equipment maintenance and management.
  4. Account for all hazardous materials.
  5. Clean and organize storage facilities.
  6. Update the computer database with all inventory, equipment, and costs.
  7. Develop and maintain the equipment acquisition and replacement plan.
  8. Conduct annual inventories, disposing of old and outdated equipment and inventory.
  9. Research and maintain a list of suppliers, including pricing, availability, and ordering processes.
  10. Resolve customer/vendor problems positively.
  11. Assist in directing personnel and operating the warehouse management system.
PREFERENCES/REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a current Driver's License.

KNOWLEDGE:
  • Knowledge of warehouse procedures and techniques, including sorting and stacking.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local policies and regulations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Associate's Degree (typically in Finance)

Experience: 0-1 year of work experience in Purchasing or Inventory, at the level of a Shipping and Receiving Clerk I.

OR

Education & Experience Substitution: 2-4 years of relevant work experience in Purchasing or Inventory at the level of a Shipping and Receiving Clerk I.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: None required.

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
