Position Overview
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for handling the receipt, inspection, storage, and distribution of incoming and outgoing materials, supplies, and equipment. This role ensures accuracy in all shipping and receiving activities, maintains records, and supports operational efficiency while following company safety and quality standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Sort, count, package, label, insure, unpack, and log inventory for shipments and receipts.
Verify materials against shipping documents, report discrepancies or damages, and notify appropriate personnel.
Trace lost shipments and handle customer claims for missing deliveries; prepare proof-of-delivery documentation.
Maintain department databases, prepare routine reports, and file shipping/receiving records.
Operate light equipment as needed for shipping and receiving tasks.
Ensure proper care and use of equipment and supplies while promoting continuous safety and environmental improvements.
Follow established policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
2–3 years of experience in an industrial warehouse or similar environment.
Knowledge of postal and commercial shipping methods.
Familiarity with equipment operation and/or maintenance.
Ability to read, write, perform basic arithmetic, and maintain accurate records.
Strong attention to detail with ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
Knowledge of safety procedures and ability to report and address issues appropriately.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Physical Demands
Frequent walking, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 70 pounds.
Ability to work with material handling equipment and perform tasks requiring physical stamina.
Work Environment
Warehouse/Shop: Frequent exposure to standard warehouse conditions.
Office: Use of standard office equipment for recordkeeping and reporting.
Standard weekly hours: 40 hours , with overtime as needed.

The estimated pay range for this position is $20/hr. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience, and work location.
