Job summary

CTC Global in Irvine, CA is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Associate to complete inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy and safe transit of materials. You will use available tools to determine receiving and shipping priorities and to prepare documentation with Great Plains ERP.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of quality systems in a manufacturing environment.
• High School graduate (or GED), with some college course work preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills.
• Computer proficiency to include MS Office Suite, ERP, MRP Planning, and Great Plains.
• Familiarity with OSHA and ISO 9000 practices and controls.
• Familiarity with manufacturing environment, documentation systems, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to multi-task, work independently, quickly, and efficiently; ability to perform problem analysis.
• Ability to fill out bills of lading; interpret packing slips.
• Licensed forklift truck operator and capable of safe forklift operation.
• Knowledge of part numbers and applications; lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Verify inbound materials against packing lists; visually inspect for damage and report discrepancies.
• Receive materials electronically and forward documentation to Accounting; cooperate with Accounts Payable.
• Move materials to designated areas using forklift; handle packing and labeling.
• Load reels into ocean containers; ensure shipping specifics and customer markings are correct.
• Schedule shipments with carriers to meet requirements and timelines.
• Prepare shipping documents using Great Plains; log shipment specifics in the master shipping log.
• Forecast shipment weight and dimensions to enable accurate quotations.

Description

SUMMARY

Complete incoming and outgoing shipping activities, to ensure accuracy, completeness and safe transit of materials. Utilize available tools to determine receiving/shipping priorities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• On inbound materials, compare identifying Packing List Specifics to received materials, to confirm counts, weights , or measures are accurate; visuall y inspect materials to ensure no damage - report any discrepancies to Purchasing.

All potentially damaged materials must be noted within the receiving B/L, Ledger, or Routing Order. If Potential damage is visually evident, note the damage, if Damage is suspected, not evident to the eye, indicate the potential for concealed Damage; note "potential damage to contents; require inspection to determine if incoming materials are damaged.

• As Per standard practice, Receive incoming materials electronically; forward completed documentation to Accounting for payment processing. Work with Accounts Payable to ensure all materials receipt into System; process documentation in a timely manner.
• Move received materials to designated areas utilizing manual or Fork Lift assistance.
• Fork Lift Certification is a mandatory requirement for hire; at hiring, must possess the basics Of Safe Fork Lift operation; required proficiency can be incorporated with on the-job training.
• Loading reels into ocean containers via forklift.
• On Shipping Materials, compare identifying Sales Order I Pick List Specifics to received materials; confirm counts, weights, or measures are accurate. Visually inspect materials to ensure no damage - report any discrepancies to Supervision.
• Packaging of materials to be consistent with the goal of materials receipt in the identical condition as Packaged. Protect and package materials into Boxes or bundles, and onto skids; ensure accurate Shipping Specifics, and Customer desired markings are included within the Box I Skid I Bundle Labeling. Strapping and blocking reels onto wooden shipping pallets.
• Schedule shipments with carriers utilizing methods required to meet shipping requirements, specifications, and schedules; follow up with carriers to ensure on-time shipment delivery.
• Utilizing currently available Great Plains Software, prepare all shipping documents in a timely and accurate manner; identify all Shipment Specifics. Document these Shipment Specifics within CTC Master Shipping Log.
• Acquire the ability to forecast shipment weight I dimensions to forward accurate

Shipment quotations.

• Achieve the ability to complete required documentation, which completely identifies all Shipping Materials.

• Familiar with the most common material handling equipment and be a licensed forklift truck operator.
• Possess a good working knowledge of part numbers and part number usage; understand applications for use -
