Job summary

Miller Industries, LLC is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Clerk for 1st shift at our Hazel Park, Michigan facility. You will maintain records, verify shipments, and coordinate inbound/outbound logistics while supporting ERP data entry and tooling orders. A forklift certification is preferred and proficiency with GSS ERP and Microsoft Office is expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 2–3 years of experience in a shipping/receiving role.
• Forklift certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to learn and operate within the ERP system (GSS).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office for documentation and tracking.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise shipping documentation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of raw materials, fabricated components, consumables, and project gear.
• Record and verify all incoming and outgoing shipments with part numbers and quantities.
• Log details inside the ERP system (GSS) and respond to queries from Purchasing or Accounting.
• Coordinate inbound deliveries and outbound shipments with vendors and internal departments.
• Prepare bills of lading, packing slips, and shipping labels as needed.
• Assist with ERP data entry and tools/orders management with Purchasing.

Who We Want

Miller Industries is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Clerk to work on our 1 st Shift at our new facility in Hazel Park, Michigan.

What You Will Be Doing

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of raw materials, fabricated components, consumable goods, and project gear.
• Record and verify all incoming and outgoing shipments, including part numbers and quantities while keeping a transaction log. This will be a shared document accessible by team members to use as a tool for locating material. Log details inside the ERP system [GSS].
• Answer queries from Purchasing or accounting with regard delivery receipts, shortages.
• Communicate with vendors, freight carriers, and internal departments to coordinate inbound deliveries and outbound shipments.
• Prepare and maintain bills of lading, packing slips, and shipping labels as needed.
• Work with operation leaders to ensure proper materials are available and on-site according to build plans.
• Support production by tracking usage of materials and ensuring timely restocking of essential items that need to be ordered or transferred out of storage.
• Assist with logistics planning for large or oversized modular unit shipments.
• Travel between Miller Industries locations as needed using a company vehicle.
• Provide support to supervisors and managers on GSS [ERP system] data entry – training will be provided.
• Assist Managers and Supervision with the ordering of small tools and consumables, liaise with the Purchasing department.

What Requirements Are Needed

• High School diploma or GED.
• 2-3 years of experience in a shipping/receiving role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Forklift certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to learn and operate within the ERP system [GSS].
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and tracking,
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise shipping documentation.
• Ability to multi-task various projects.
• Must be able to demonstrate ability to follow directions, produce quality work, and maintain safe and positive work environment.
• Clean driving record.

Physical & Mental Requirements

The job is performed in a manufacturing setting regularly exposed to the following: noise, fumes, dirt, heat, sparks, smoke, dust, vibration, grease, moving objects/parts. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required. Work may include exposure to hazardous chemicals. Inside working conditions with exposure to hot and cold conditions.

Must have the physical, mental strength, and endurance to perform duties. Physical ability to frequently walk, stand for extended periods of time, balance, stoop, crouch, kneel, push, pull, twist, turn, and lift while performing functions of position. Must be able to reach overhead and climb ladders as needed. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
