Job summary

MillerKnoll is seeking a dedicated manufacturing/shipping associate to support the flow of materials from production to warehouses and customers, ensuring accurate and timely shipments. The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

You will coordinate dock activities, prioritize loading, and maintain meticulous records while adhering to corporate safety guidelines. A hi-lo license is beneficial and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Able to read, understand, and follow written/verbal instructions.
  • Able to schedule and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and reliability; overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate flow of materials from Production or Warehouse to facilities and customers.
  • Set priorities on shipping dock activities and coordinate hi-low/driver tasks.
  • Ensure on-time shipments and 100% reliability by sequencing truck loads.
  • Handle receipt and delivery of material for Tool Crib and Maintenance.
  • Verify shipments/receipts with 100% accuracy for supplier payments.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and coordinate deliveries of parts.
  • Prepare trailer documentation as needed (bills of lading, packing lists).
  • Maintain efficient flow of materials in staging areas and support overtime when required.

GENERAL PURPOSE

Conducts activities to support Manufacturing effort in meeting internal and external customer expectations for accurate and timely processing of shipments. Uses various transaction systems and PC based Office applications to meet reliability goals. Serves as a liaison between Manufacturing and all the distribution sites across the company and customer direct shipments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Assist in coordinating the flow of materials from Production or Warehouse to certain manufacturing facilities, MillerKnoll regions and customers, as required by site.
  • Assist in setting priorities on shipping dock activities and the coordination of supporting hi-low and driver's activities.
  • Responsible for ensuring on time shipments and 100% reliability by determining the sequence the trucks are loaded in utilizing computer systems.
  • Responsible for the receipt and delivery of material for the Tool Crib, Maintenance Departments, and Food Service. (Responsibility may differ by site).
  • Verify and accurately process all shipments/receipts of parts from suppliers and all incoming freight with 100% accuracy to ensure accurate payments to suppliers through voucher on receipt, internal or external customers.
  • Assume responsibility for adherence to all corporate safety guidelines (hi-low), safety glasses, and pedestrians.
  • Coordinate the delivery of all parts from the dock area to production areas and internal warehousing facilities.
  • Expedite the disposition and shipping of all material returns and reusable packaging or skids, as required by site.
  • Keep supervisor completely informed and perform other tasks as they are assigned such as loading trailers with outgoing product using a hi-low..
  • May fill out documentation for all trailers including bills of lading, packing lists, and any other documentation needed in special circumstances.
  • Organize and maintain an efficient and effective flow of materials in and out of the staging area (on dock) Performs additional responsibilities as requested.

Education/Experience

High School diploma or equivalent. 2 years of manufacturing experience.

Skills and Abilities

Competent in math skills such as adding and subtracting with ability to keep and maintain accurate records. Able to read, understand, communicate, and interpret written and verbal instructions, work documentation, policies and practices, etc. Demonstrated ability to effectively use office automation/communication software and tools currently being used in the HMI office environment including systems utilized for a vast number of transactions. Able to schedule and keep track of many simultaneous projects; anticipate problems and develop solutions. Ability to work in a collaborative/participative environment as an integral part of a team, with minimal supervision. Reliable and creative, strong organizational skills and able to work under pressure and changing priorities. Demonstrated attention to housekeeping and safety required. If not currently holding a hi-lo license, employee must pass all required tests within 30 days of accepting position. Committed to team success through reliable attendance and working overtime with little or no notice. Must be able to deal with people professionally, tactfully and diplomatically. Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without accommodations.
