Job summary

CTDI in Charlestown, Indiana, is seeking a warehouse associate to manage the flow of incoming and outgoing shipments and support on-time dispatch. You will verify records, prepare items for shipment, label correctly, and assist with packing to meet quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Prepare items for shipment and ensure proper labeling and packaging.
• Compare counts and weights against bills of lading and invoices.
• Unpack and route shipments, reject damaged items, manage shortages.
• Communicate with shippers to rectify issues.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness in the warehouse.
• Track goods using computer systems.
• Ensure supply of shipping materials.
• Perform other duties per business needs.

1st Shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday- Friday

Responsible for managing the flow of incoming and outgoing shipments in the warehouse.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments
• Prepare items for shipment by performing the following duties to quality/productivity standards, while ensuring that all shipments are properly labeled and packaged.
• Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
• Unpacks, examines and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
• Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
• Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
• Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Responsible for following warehouse safety regulations.
• All other duties assigned, based on the business the warehouse supports.

Required Skills and Experience

• Comfortable working autonomously.
• Thoroughness and attention to detail in task completion.
• Competent in maintaining accurate and organized records.
• Basic knowledge of computers programs for entering data.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Previous experience working in a high-volume distribution, manufacturing, technical service (i.e. testing and repair) or forward logistics operation a plus.
• Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
• Written and verbal communication skills.

Educational Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

• Warehouse environment.
• Must be able to lift and/or pull up to 50 lbs.
• Requires extended periods of standing and walking.
• Requires bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, and reaching.
