Leveraging innovative solutions and technologies, we serve customers all over the world.ABOUT THE POSITIONPosition requires working knowledge of forklifts, hoists, slings, hand tools, tape measure, drills, grinders (portable & bench). Person must maintain a good work ethic and environment built on teamwork, continuous improvement, safety, communication, customer service/satisfaction and organization.Key Deliverables• Inspect and verifies incoming goods against invoices or other documents.• Organizes distribution and shipping merchandise.• Operate forklift, hand truck, or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store inventory.• Maintain internal record keeping systems.• Prepare and package product domestic and international shipping.• Identify product prior to storage based on internal processes such as bar code labels, identification labels or other processes.Key Activities & Responsibilities• Maintain level of work performance in accordance with Astec Quality Control Standards and/or job order specifications.• Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules.• Load/unload freight trucks and trailers using safest and most effective method.• Inspection of incoming freight for potential damage.• Completion and organization of incoming/outgoing shipping documents and packing lists.• Assurance of correct materials received/shipped by matching packing lists, picking tickets, purchase orders, invoices to product.• Proper tagging/labeling of product.• Storing and organizing materials at assigned areas.• Picking/pulling items to prepare for shipment.• Packing of product effectively to insure safe transport and no damage to product.• Scheduling freight pickups, utilizing fastest and most cost-effective method for Astec and customers.• Perform or assist in other assigned duties as qualified.• Working area to be kept free of excessive debris, such as wooden pallets and cardboard boxes. Area is to be swept and debris discarded at end of each shift.To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.• Position requires zero to two years of experience, preferably in the manufacturing field.• Ability to multi-task with demonstrated excellence in organization and time management skills• Must be adaptable to changing priorities.• Perform work standing on concrete up to 12 hours a day.• Must be able to work in various positions including squatting, bending, and reaching. (• Ability to push/pull/lift to 60 lbs.
