Job summary
Soap Creek Resources in Harlan, IA is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Associate to verify and prepare items for shipment. The role requires hands-on shipping/receiving experience and familiarity with measurement devices and shipping paperwork.
The ideal candidate has 1-2 years in shipping/receiving, forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus, and is willing to learn UPS Worldship and SDS/Hazcom regulations.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of hands-on shipping and receiving experience.
- Forklift experience a plus, will train.
- Overhead crane experience a plus, will train.
- Experience with measurement devices a must.
- Crating or carpentry experience a plus, will train.
- UPS Worldship experience a plus.
- Export paperwork experience a plus.
- Understanding SDS/Hazcom shipping regulations.
Responsibilities
- Verifies outgoing shipments against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Determines the method of shipment and affixes shipping labels.
- Assembles containers and inserts items into them.
- Packs, stamps, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions.
- Posts weights and shipping charges and affixes postage.
- Operates lift equipment to move shipments to storage or work areas.
- Studies shipping notices to determine priorities and methods.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and completes clerical tasks.
