Job summary

United States Cold Storage Inc is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Associate for the 3rd shift (10:00 pm–6:30 am) to manage inbound and outbound movements, enter data into the WMS, and coordinate with drivers at the Richland Township facility. You will verify driver IDs, assign dock doors, and maintain accurate shipment documentation.

The role requires 1–3 years of related experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work overtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1–3 years preferred in shipping/receiving.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Able to interpret packing slips and enter accurate data into the system.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with carriers regarding inbound/outbound shipments.
• Enter product data into the WMS and ensure correct storage and shipping.
• Verify driver identification and assign dock doors.
• Maintain knowledge of product location for dock door assignment.
• Report issues to warehouse for proper planning.
• Post inbound/outbound shipments in the system.
• Generate bill documentation and ensure driver has correct paperwork.
• Note shortages, overages, or defects to supervisor and documentation.
• Record driver paperwork, seal, trailer numbers, and appointments.
• Assist with order completion and accuracy before driver release.
• Identify extra charges and collect from the driver.
• Support Customer Accounts with posting shipments.
• Maintain relationships with carriers and customers.
• Act as Welcome Center Associate and Security Guard when needed.

Shipping & Receiving Associate

The Job Details

· Communicate effectively with carriers and other contacts regarding the inbound and outbound movements of their product.

· Expected to have a full picture understanding of how to enter products into the WMS, how the product is stored, and shipped out of the facility.

· Engage with drivers and verify driver identification in order to assign them dock doors and ultimately check the drivers in and out.

· Responsible for knowledge of product location within the warehouse to effectively assign dock doors.

· Effectively communicate any issues to the warehouse so they can plan accordingly.

· Accurately enter data into the system from the carrier/customers' paperwork to properly process inbounds.

· Generate the bill documentation, ensure the carrier reviews the paperwork, and confirm the driver has all the correct paperwork for the load with the correct destination.

· Must report overages, shortages, defective materials, or questionable conditions as per the customer’s requirements to the department supervisor and note on carrier/customer documentation.

· Responsible for putting all necessary information regarding appointments, including driver’s paperwork, seal, trailer number, etc.

· Act as the final checkpoint for order completion and accuracy prior to releasing the driver.

· Responsible for identifying extra charges for pallets, overtime, labor, etc., and collecting appropriate charges from the driver.

· Assist Customer Accounts with the posting of inbound and outbound shipments.

· Maintain professional relationships with carriers and customers.

· Act as a Welcome Center Associate and Security Guard when needed, including overseeing the complete check-in and check-out process, trailer verification procedure, checking the yard, and verifying sealed trailers.

· Work effectively outside in order to communicate with drivers.

What We Are Looking For

Education

Experience

• 1 - 3 years preferred.

• Excellent communication skills, written and oral.

• Ability to perform, but not limited to, the following tasks, be familiar with and able to interpret packing slips, enter into the computer the correct information, to acknowledge receipt of the goods into the purchase order and processing database.
