Job summary

United Radio Services is seeking a reliable shipping associate to open and distribute incoming shipments, package and ship units daily, and keep the shipping area organized and safe.

The role requires basic math, computer skills, and a valid NYS drivers license. You may assist with loading/unloading trucks and must follow company procedures while fulfilling additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; experience desirable but not necessary.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operating instructions.
• Basic math and measurement skills for handling shipments.
• Ability to use a computer for standard tasks and record keeping.
• Must have a valid NYS drivers license and basic problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Open and distribute all incoming packages.
• Package and ship units daily; ensure timely delivery.
• Sort packages by carrier and keep shipping area clean and safe.
• Load and unload delivery trucks as needed.
• Follow company policies and procedures and perform other duties as requested.

Job description

Package and ship all out going units so they arrive undamaged at their proper destination. Unpack and distribute all incoming units.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Opening and distribution of all incoming packages.

Keep shipping and garage area clean and safe.

Package and ship units daily.

Keep packages sorted between carriers.

Work late as deemed necessary to ensure all customer units are shipped on time.

Be sure all packages shipped out of United Radio will give customers a positive and professional opinion of our company.

Loading and unloading delivery trucks.

Comply with United Radio's policies and procedures, and quality systems.

Perform additional duties as requested.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate with other employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have a valid NYS driver's license.
