Job summary

The HEICO Companies, LLC is seeking a shipping associate to perform tasks in the shipping of materials, supplies and equipment. You will prepare shipments, attach bills of lading, and coordinate with shippers while maintaining safety and accuracy.

The role requires good communication, problem-solving, and the ability to work with ERP systems, UPS Worldship, and FedEx Ship Manager. You will support teamwork, ensure deadlines are met, and uphold company policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 2 years’ experience required.
• Strong knowledge of hazmat handling, regulations, and safety procedures.
• Familiar with UPS Worldship, FedEx Ship Manager and creating LTL BOLs; international shipping.
• Past ERP experience and general computer knowledge.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Ship materials, supplies and equipment; assemble/coordinate containers and attach Bills of Lading.
• Maintain direct interaction with team members shipping; meet deadlines; train staff as needed.
• Record shortages and coordinate with shippers to rectify damages/shortages.
• Inspect outgoing shipments for compliance with specifications; report unsafe conditions.

DESCRIPTION:

Good communication skills needed for frequent interaction with various personnel Must maintain co-operative relationships with co-workers Provide direct interaction with team members involved in shipping. Assisting and guiding employees on issues related to the shipping department. Ensure deadlines are met, adhere to company policies and procedures, and responsible for employee training. Records shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Examines incoming shipments, reject damaged items. Puts identifying information on containers, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against travelers or other records. Assemble/coordinate wooden or cardboard containers or select preassembled containers. Attach Bills of Lading to shipping containers. Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. Reports any unsafe conditions to Supervisor/Management. Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Responsible for cleanliness of work area and the general housekeeping of the Company. Other duties as assigned. Must understand and have good knowledge of packaging products. Must maintain a good attendance record. Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.

REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma, or General Education Degree (GED). 2 years of experience required. Strong knowledge of HAZMAT (hazardous materials) handling, regulations, and safety procedures is strongly preferred. Knowledge of UPS Worldship/FEDEX Ship manger/Creating LTL BOL'S and versed in international shipping. Past ERP Experience/Computer knowledge General computer knowledge. High degree of diplomacy and the ability to deal with and influence people in all types of positions required. Familiar with a variety of field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Work with minimum supervision and strong problem-solving skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Frequent mental and visual attention where the flow is intermittent with intermittent checking. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand and occasionally required to walk, sit, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
