Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Materials Handler for 1st shift to pack and inspect a variety of materials in accordance with DLA regulations. The role requires knowledge of packing standards, proper labeling, and the ability to operate MHE with safety awareness.

The position involves data entry into DSS, counting and weighing items, and applying tags. A 30 June 2027 end date applies; travel and security clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to obtain MHE license within 30 days of selection.
• HAZMAT certification training as needed.
• High school diploma or GED required; may substitute experience for education.
• Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds and work with hazardous materials safely.

Responsibilities

• Identifies, examines, classifies, accepts, rejects, and disposes of material per DLA regulations.
• Ensures material is preserved/packaged/marked/labeled per Military Standards before release.
• Selects container size and cushioning from stock to protect materials.
• Conducts basic inspection/examination procedures for material.
• Reads specifications/photographs per DLA contract.
• May operate MHE along with packing duties to move material.
• Receives data input into DSS and other systems; prepares basic reports.
