Job summary

ZEISS in the United States is seeking a Shipping Operator to perform routine production duties in the lens manufacturing process under close supervision.

This entry-level role involves delivering and picking up orders, recording shipments, loading vehicles, and supporting the department with cross-training and teamwork. You should have a HS diploma, a clean DMV record, and be able to lift up to 20 pounds; drug testing applies and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a clean DMV record.
• All candidates, including internal, will be required to pass a drug test.
• 0-2 years related experience.
• Reliable, honest, dependable and able to follow directions written or verbal.
• Customer Service Mindset.
• Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
• Be able to perform repetitive movements with upper and lower extremities.
• Must be able to regularly lift 10 pounds.
• Must be able to excerpt up to 20 PSI with hands.
• Ability to sustain lengthy periods of visual concentration and good hand/eye/foot coordination.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task production environment.
• Eye for attention to detail and symmetry.
• Solid dexterity and mechanical skills.

What’s the role?

Shipping Operator is an entry level position. Under close supervision where operations and sequences are specified by written and verbal instructions and established practices, the Shipping Operator will perform routine production duties associated with the lens manufacturing processes.

• Deliver and pick up orders from eyecare facilities.
• Obtain signatures and/or payments
• Record information, such as items received and delivered and recipients’ responses to messages.
• Receive messages or materials to be delivered, and information on recipients, such as names, addresses, telephone numbers, and delivery instructions, communicated via telephone, two-way radio, or in person.
• Load vehicles with listed goods, ensuring goods are loaded correctly.
• Generally assigned some tasks within a specified department but may receive cross training on new tasks.
• Additional tasks as needed.
• Participate in meetings to enhance departmental communication and efficiency.
• May train peers.

Job Conditions/ Complexity:
