Job Description
We are seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented individual with experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment for the full-time position of Shipping Operator.
Responsibilities
- Provide shipping services to ensure quality and internal customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate shipping and warehousing tasks, including preparing, handling, organizing, loading, and unloading orders; verify paperwork and secure loads.
- Follow safety and operational procedures, maintain documentation, and ensure quality and delivery standards.
- Make decisions and communicate with supervisors for approval when necessary.
- Prioritize efficiency, safety, and quality; suggest improvements to management.
- Work effectively with a diverse team and external partners.
- Assist with handling heavy items and work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage shipments, check accuracy, and prepare necessary documentation.
- Create shipping labels with all required information.
- Assist with receiving procedures and coordinate inbound/outbound logistics.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts and hand trucks; train new employees.
- Perform multitasking and decision-making tasks; work at heights up to 25 feet.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies and report incidents.
- Maintain open communication with management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree or higher preferred.
- 2-3 years of related experience; forklift operation training is a plus.
- Basic computer skills, ability to interpret paperwork, perform simple math, and operate manual/powered tools.
Physical and Work Environment
- Frequent walking, lifting up to 70 pounds, and manual handling.
- Work in a loud, busy environment; indoor setting.
- Personal protective equipment required, including covered toe shoes.
- 2nd shift hours: 3:30pm - 12am, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime.
