Job summary

Golden West Packaging Group in City of Industry, CA, is seeking a Material Handler - Shipping to ensure safe receipt, storage, movement, and shipment of materials and finished goods. You will support daily warehouse operations, verify documentation, and help maintain inventory accuracy.

Qualifications

• Ability to safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
• Basic computer skills and experience with warehouse or inventory systems.
• Ability to accurately complete shipping and receiving documentation.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations involving counts, measurements, decimals, and fractions.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment to safely load, unload, move, stage, store, and organize materials and finished goods.
• Load and unload trucks, inspect materials for damage or shortages, and transport inventory throughout the facility while following established safety procedures.
• Receive, inspect, count, and verify incoming and outgoing materials against bills of lading, purchase orders, invoices, and shipping documentation.
• Prepare shipments by packaging materials, completing shipping documentation, and preparing loads in accordance with dispatcher-provided load plans.
• Perform daily forklift and material handling equipment inspections; maintain inventory organization and replenish stock materials following established procedures.
• Maintain compliance with ISO requirements, hazardous material handling procedures, and company safety policies.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and assist with other warehouse and shipping duties as assigned.
