Job Summary

The Shipping Loader is responsible for the accurate, efficient, and safe loading of finished vinyl windows and doors onto delivery vehicles and carriers. The Shipping Loader plays a critical part in ensuring that every order leaves our facility in perfect condition and on schedule, helping Vinyl Kraft deliver on our promise of undeniable value and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load finished windows, doors, and related products onto trucks, and trailers ensuring proper weight distribution and secure placement to prevent in-transit damage.
  • Unload incoming materials, components, and supplies from delivery vehicles as needed.
  • Inspect outgoing products for visible damage or defects prior to loading, flagging any issues immediately to the Shipping Supervisor.
  • Verify order accuracy against shipping manifests.
  • Organize and maintain the shipping bay and loading dock, keeping all areas clean, free of debris, and fully accessible.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and PPE requirements without exception.
  • Communicate proactively with the Shipping Supervisor regarding low inventory of shipping supplies, equipment concerns, or scheduling conflicts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Shipping Supervisor or Operations Manager.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior experience in a shipping, warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy — loading errors directly impact customer satisfaction.
  • Dependable attendance and a demonstrated strong work ethic.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, both verbally and in writing.
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision after training.
  • Commitment to Vinyl Kraft's core values of Dependability and Respect — you can be relied on to get it done.
Work Environment

This position operates in a fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse setting. The employee may be exposed to outdoor conditions when loading or unloading in the dock area, as well as noise, dust, and fluctuating temperatures within the facility. Appropriate safety gear and protective measures are provided and required at all times.

Schedule

This is a full-time, hourly position with a fluctuating schedule. Typical core hours fall within Monday through Friday, but start times, end times, and total weekly hours may vary based on production output, shipping volume, and seasonal demand. Flexibility for early mornings, extended shifts, and occasional overtime (including the possibility of Saturday work) is required. The schedule is communicated in advance whenever possible, but the Shipping Loader must be adaptable to changing operational needs.

Requirements

Physical Demands: This role demands a high level of physical exertion and stamina:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, push, pull, and reach for extended periods (typically shifts of 8 or more hours).
  • Frequent lifting and carrying of materials and finished product weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Regular team lifting and solo maneuvering of heavy product up to 100 pounds, using proper body mechanics and available equipment.
  • Loading and unloading activities require repetitive overhead reaching, stacking, and securing of product at various heights.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate tools, secure strapping, wrap pallets, and handle product without damage.
  • Ability to work on and around loading docks, ramps, and uneven surfaces in varying weather conditions.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read labels, manifests, and identify product defects.
