Job summary

International Paper – Buffalo Sheet Plant is seeking a Shipping Lead to oversee forklift operations and daily outbound shipments. The role requires forklift certification, 2+ years of forklift experience, and ability to train other staff.

Primary schedule is first shift, Monday–Friday 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, with overtime and weekend flexibility as needed. Location is Buffalo, NY. Strong computer skills and reliable transport are essential.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Must be forklift operation certified with at least 2 years forklift experience.
Stable work history.
Basic computer skills, including Outlook, Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

Check area for safety, cleanliness, and mechanical problems at shift start.
Operate forklift and other equipment (pallet jacks, shrink wrap machine, bander).
Plan daily runs for local outbound orders with shipping supervisor.
Call carriers for pickup and PRO freight as needed.
Prepare bills of lading and documentation for export orders.
Verify quantities, destinations, and routing against customer orders.
Load trailers safely and timely; ensure product quality and proper tagging.
Receive/unload materials; check packing slips against PO and damages.
Lead, guide and train employees; perform end-of-shift cleanup and maintain safety.
