Job summary
UFP Industries is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Lead in Iowa to coordinate inbound and outbound shipments and prepare related paperwork under supervision. The role requires experience in shipping/receiving, familiarity with DOT regulations, and forklift licensing.
Daily duties include scheduling, loading order decisions, and ensuring accurate documents. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook is expected, with documentation of shortages, order tracing, and carrier coordination.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least 6 months of shipping/receiving experience.
- Working knowledge of DOT concepts, regulations, practices.
- Familiarity with loading techniques, weight limits, and procedures.
- Proficient with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Forklift licensing completed.
- Must be 18 years of age.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule all outbound loads with sales and production.
- Determine proper loading order and placement of product.
- Verify shipping documents and record discrepancies.
- Set up loads with outside freight carriers.
- Coordinate routing of orders and dispatch carriers with delivery instructions.
- Ensure paperwork meets DOT regulations and company procedures.
- Document shortages and inform sales/admin of the shortage.
- Manage tracing/expedite orders as needed.
- Maintain records of shipments.
- Assist loading/unloading material.
- Prepare reports and correspondence.
- Perform other duties as required.
