SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Shipping/Receiving Team Lead provides excellent service to our customers by ensuring the Shipping/Receiving team is accurately shipping required products on time and supports production activities through proper inspection and receiving activities.
JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Along with the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor and Warehouse Manager, leads implementation & execution of warehouse processes and procedures.
- Coordinates daily workflow in order to ship and receive products on time.
- Monitors the pace and flow of product from receiving through shipping.
- Ensures warehouse productivity requirements meet customer schedules and maximize operational efficiency.
- Reports any issues to the Supervisor in a timely fashion.
- Coaches and leads the warehouse team to first and foremost work safely, increase productivity, and reduce waste.
- Maintains housekeeping and supports 5S initiatives for the warehouse and surrounding area.
- Assists with coordinating daily workload and redistributing duties as needed.
- Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped, and on methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock.
- Tracks the history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
- Responsible for shipping, receiving, firming work orders, and reconciliation of outsourced processes.

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES):
- 3 - 5 years of experience in a warehouse/logistics environment
- Excellent communication skills, including problem-solving and team motivation.
- Forklift experience.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently as a team player in a diverse work group
- Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES):
- Plex ERP knowledge is a plus
- Strong PC literacy (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with integrated databases.
- Experience in Visual Flow/Kanban environment and cellular manufacturing, JIT, and MRP systems.
- Understanding of and practical experience in Lean Manufacturing
