SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Shipping/Receiving Team Lead provides excellent service to our customers by ensuring the Shipping/Receiving team is accurately shipping required products on time and supports production activities through proper inspection and receiving activities.

JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Along with the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor and Warehouse Manager, leads implementation & execution of warehouse processes and procedures.
2. Coordinates daily workflow in order to ship and receive products on time.
3. Monitors the pace and flow of product from receiving through shipping.
4. Ensures warehouse productivity requirements meet customer schedules and maximize operational efficiency.
5. Reports any issues to the Supervisor in a timely fashion.
6. Coaches and leads the warehouse team to first and foremost work safely, increase productivity, and reduce waste.
7. Maintains housekeeping and supports 5S initiatives for the warehouse and surrounding area.
8. Assists with coordinating daily workload and redistributing duties as needed.
9. Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped, and on methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock.
10. Tracks the history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
11. Responsible for shipping, receiving, firming work orders, and reconciliation of outsourced processes.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES):

• 3 - 5 years of experience in a warehouse/logistics environment
• Excellent communication skills, including problem-solving and team motivation.
• Forklift experience.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work efficiently as a team player in a diverse work group
• Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES):

• Plex ERP knowledge is a plus
• Strong PC literacy (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with integrated databases.
• Experience in Visual Flow/Kanban environment and cellular manufacturing, JIT, and MRP systems.
• Understanding of and practical experience in Lean Manufacturing
