Coordinate and prioritize daily shipping, receiving, staging, loading, unloading, and material movement based on customer, production, and operational requirements.Schedule outbound shipments; obtain and compare freight rates; select appropriate, cost-effective shipping methods; coordinate carrier pickups and deliveries; and maintain effective carrier relationships.Monitor outbound shipments, ensure orders are properly staged, packaged, labeled, and documented, and proactively address or communicate delays, shortages, damages, freight issues, or other discrepancies.Prepare and verify bills of lading, packing slips, shipping labels, customer invoices, freight purchase orders, and other required shipping and receiving documentation.Accurately process shipping and freight transactions in Syspro, including freight rates and shipment details, and finalize sales by matching freight purchase orders to PRO tracking numbers and entering applicable GRN information.Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for correct product, quantity, packaging, labeling, documentation, freight charges, and system accuracy; investigate and resolve discrepancies as needed.Provide day-to-day direction to Shipping Utility employees by assigning priorities, monitoring work, and ensuring shipping and receiving requirements are completed accurately and on time.Train, guide, and coach employees on shipping/receiving procedures, documentation, material handling, equipment operation, and safety requirements; communicate staffing, performance, safety, or operational concerns to the Plant Manager.Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts, warehouse audits, organized staging/storage areas, and investigation of inventory discrepancies.Coordinate with production and other departments to ensure materials and finished goods are available to support production and shipping requirements.Ensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA requirements, forklift and material-handling procedures, and PPE requirements while maintaining clean, safe, and organized work areas.Identify and recommend improvements related to shipping accuracy, freight costs, carrier performance, workflow, safety, inventory control, and overall operational efficiency.Perform other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong knowledge of shipping, receiving, freight, warehouse, and inventory procedures, including freight rating, carrier selection, and outbound scheduling.Ability to accurately prepare and process shipping documents, invoices, freight purchase orders, and Syspro or similar ERP transactions.Strong leadership, organization, communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.Ability to train and direct employees, prioritize multiple activities, meet shipping deadlines, resolve discrepancies, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferred.2-3 years of shipping, receiving, logistics, warehouse, or manufacturing experience preferred.Previous lead or demonstrated leadership experience preferred.Experience with Syspro or a similar ERP system, shipping documentation, invoicing, freight coordination, and transportation carriers preferred.Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification required.Performance ExpectationsConsistently meet shipping deadlines while maintaining accuracy in shipments, documentation, invoicing, inventory, and Syspro transactions.
