Job summary

Buckeye Corrugated, Inc. (BCI) is seeking a Shipping Supervisor to direct the activities of the shipping department in a manufacturing plant.

The role requires overseeing loading, scheduling, and coordination with customers and sales to ensure on-time delivery. You will develop delivery schedules, manage dock appointments, supervise the truck scheduling system, and drive improvements in efficiency while upholding safety policies.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience as a shipping supervisor or manager.
• Experience in the corrugated packaging industry highly preferred.
• High school diploma / GED.

Responsibilities

• Follow established safety rules, policies and procedures at all times
• Correspond with customers and sales using tools provided
• Monitor shipping schedule and correspond with Scheduler
• Maintain filing system
• Process customer pickups as required
• Collaborate, consult and communicate with other supervisors on all shifts
• Administer the truck scheduling system
• Develop delivery schedules for all orders
• Recommend changes for improvements in efficiencies and performance
• Schedule dock appointments with customers as needed
• Compile a daily performance report and distribute
• Contact and schedule outside carriers as requiredAssist in warehouse as needed
• Respot trailers as needed
• Reconcile daily shipping log
• Ensure prompt, accurate loading and shipping of finished product for customers
• Monitor all job functions to match quality and safety policies
• Ensure prompt and accurate execution of all job functions
• Ensure all projects completed timely and accurately
• Work from written and verbal directions
• Maintain neat and orderly work area
• Full-time role in a manufacturing plant/warehouse setting
