Job summary

1-800-FLOWERS.COM, INC in Lake Forest, IL is seeking a Shipping Lead to bridge information from supervisors to the team and ensure product quality, meet customer specs, and drive efficiency on the production floor.

You will direct associates, demonstrate instructions to new hires, and step in for supervisors as needed while coordinating multiple shifts and maintaining a safe, tidy work environment. High school diploma or GED preferred; 1+ year manufacturing preferred.

• Foster an environment of positive morale and high-performance expectations while working in a team setting.
• Regroup associates within assigned areas to maximize team members' strengths.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to team members.
• Identify and report/resolve production line problems promptly.
• Maintain a fully operational, safe, and tidy work environment.
• Sorting & matching orders.

The expected salary range for this position is $17/hour. The actual compensation will be determined by experience and other factors permitted by the law.

As a Shipping Lead, you play a crucial role as a lead figure in the department, bridging information from supervisors and upper management to your team. Operating in larger departments and acting as a lead/delegator on the production floor, your focus is on ensuring product quality, meeting customer specifications, and consistently achieving efficiency and productivity targets. In addition to providing hands‑on directions to associates, you coordinate tasks, demonstrate job instructions to new hires, and occasionally step in for Assistant Supervisors and Supervisors.

Shift & Schedule

1st Shift: 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM (Part-Time)

Beginning the week of November 23, associates must be available to transition to full-time hours based on business needs:

7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or

8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Mandatory Saturdays will be required during December based on production needs.
