Forklift Operator Shipping

Tasks:

The position is responsible for manifesting and loading trailers. Applicants will be considered for openings in departments such as Shipping and Receiving. The work environment is cold and damp, with temperatures ranging from 28 to 42 degrees. The job is fast-paced and involves repetitive motions. Some positions require lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 40 lbs, while Material Handling and Receiving roles may require lifting over 70 lbs. The role involves constant standing, walking, and operating powered material handling equipment like forklifts and stand-up lifts. Specialized training for operating industrial trucks is required for qualification within Tyson Foods. Candidates meeting the minimum requirements may be contacted for an interview.

Requirements:

  • Willingness to work in cold and wet environments.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds as needed.
  • Willingness to undergo and pass forklift license training.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to stand for 8-9 hour shifts and work overtime and weekends.
  • Ability to follow instructions and perform basic math for shipping and loading tasks.
  • Physical ability to bend, twist, turn, and coordinate movements.
  • Willingness to read, follow loading procedures, and use the Enterprise Inventory Management (EIM) device for scanning.
