YAKIMA CHIEF HOPS INC is seeking a Shipping/Forklift associate to move products, organize warehouses, and prepare shipments at Sunnyside, WA. You will operate a Toyota forklift, wrap and label products, and ensure accurate documentation for inventory control.

Qualifications

High School diploma, GED or equivalent preferred but not required.
Excellent mathematical, communication and computer skills; detail oriented and able to multitask.
Able to initiate, prioritize, and solve work problems to meet deadlines.

Written skills needed to properly fill out paperwork.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Follow SOPs and verbal instructions.
Minimum of six months related experience; learn on the job.
Familiarity with plant equipment operation and SOPs.

Ability to sit/stand/walk for extended periods; climb stairs and ladders.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs and carry up to 44 lbs occasionally to frequently.
Learn ERP systems for data entry and reporting.
Preferably bilingual; food handler’s card is a plus.

Responsibilities

Operate equipment: Forklift – Toyota, Heat Gun, Wrapper – 3M.
Prepare products for transfer and shipping.
Document daily process and inventory data for reporting.
Ensure label quality and replace as needed.
Submit production rates and material inventories to Inventory Clerk.
Notify supervisor about production status and shipment progress.
Collaborate with team to improve efficiencies and follow Lean principles.
Maintain sanitary and safe work environment and follow safety policies.
Participate in Safety Committee as needed.

Job Qualifications

High School diploma, GED or equivalent, preferred but not required.

Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to transport product and organize the warehouses for product transfer and shipment.

Job Duties

Operate the following equipment:
- Forklift – Toyota
- Heat Gun
- Wrapper – 3M
Prepare products for transfer and shipping.
Assist with events with the department and the company.
Document Daily Process (Pallet of LBS by variety).
Ensure the quality of labels and replace them if necessary.
Submit the following information to the Inventory Clerk, including but not limited to:
- Production rates and progress
- Material inventories
- Materials used
Notify supervisor on the production in shipment.
Confer with department supervisor and team members to assess progress and discuss needed changes.
Continuously look for ways to improve process efficiency and notify immediate supervisor of observations and recommendations.
Meet with department supervisor and team members to assess progress and discuss needed changes.
Work in conjunction with Lean Manufacturing Principles in the Pellet Plant and warehouses.
Maintain sanitary and safe work environment.
Follow safety requirements.
May actively participate on company’s Safety Committee.
Ensure that company safety policies as well as federal, state and local safety and environmental regulations are observed.
Must have a complete understanding of company’s policies, SOPs, QPs, EPs, HACCP and cGMP that pertain to their department to ensure quality, safety, efficiency and sustainability.
Must adhere to all company policies.
Examine documents, materials, and products and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy and conformance to standards and specifications.
Follow all SOPs in a given area.
Perform all other duties as assigned by Manager and/or designee.
