Job summary

Nucor Corporation is seeking a sit-down forklift operator in the Los Angeles area to locate, pull, and move orders using a sit-down forklift, transport raw materials to production stations, and maintain accurate inventory records. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and teamwork, with emphasis on adhering to policies and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Locate, pull, and bring orders using a sit-down forklift
• Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies
• Transport raw materials to production workstations
• Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs; keep track of inventory
• Comply with company policies and legal guidelines
• Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities
• Other duties as assigned

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a sit-down forklift operator


• Valid certification to operate forklifts required; we will also certify through company


• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.


• Must be able to work any shift as required, overtime, weekends and holidays; must be able to work a modifiable schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working for a manufacturing company


• Bilingual - English and Spanish speaking


• Basic math skills to keep track of inventory
