Job summary

Bob's Discount Furniture is hiring a Shipping Equipment Operator. The role involves safely operating a Cherry Picker lift up to 40 feet, utilizing RF scanners to locate and move products, and staging items for loading in the distribution center. You will work with a team to meet daily goals and handle additional duties as assigned.

Prior experience operating forklift or cherry picker equipment and a high school diploma are required; weekend availability and comfortable heights are expected.

Job Overview

The Shipping Equipment Operator is responsible for accurately picking product from the designated locations throughout the Distribution Center and staging the product at the proper loading areas. The operators utilize a cherry picker style lift and RF scanners in order to successfully complete their duties.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Cherry Picker lift up to 40ft. in the air.
• Utilize RF scanners in order to identify and locate product.
• Load staged product from storage racks onto cherry picker lift.
• Move product from lift into proper location in the loading area.
• Cooperate with team members to complete tasks and set goals.
• All other duties as assigned.

Starting hourly pay at $20.00 - $22.00/hour (Based on experience)

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience in a Warehouse environment.
• Must have experience operating forklift and/or cherry picker equipment.
• Comfortable with heights up to 40ft. in the air.
• Must be able to work flexible hours as determined by the needs of the department, which includes availability for weekends.
• Ability to communicate proactively and effectively including comprehending and communicating detailed instructions, reading and writing, and having knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures as required by the position.
• Must be at least 18 years old to be considered for employment with Bob’s.

Physical Demands

• Able to sit, walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, push and handle and move items weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance.
• Ability to move throughout all areas of the distribution center.
• Move objects up to 250 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Stand and walk continuously to perform job functions.
• Standing, walking, lifting, and arranging product: 90%
• Sitting: 5%
• Desk or phone work: 5%
