Job summary

Steel Technologies LLC in Willoughby, OH, is seeking a Shipping Coordinator to verify accuracy of shipments, prepare shipping documents, and coordinate with sales, drivers, and customers to resolve issues. The role requires attention to detail, data entry, and safe forklift operation.

The position runs Monday–Friday 7:00am–3:00pm, with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth within a manufacturing environment in Willoughby.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of raw materials and shipping/receiving processes.
• Knowledge of and ability to comply with safety rules and requirements.
• Knowledge of basic computer functions and ability to accurately input data into Invex system.
• Knowledge of basic arithmetic.
• Ability to read and understand material tags and production instructions.
• Ability to accurately use tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.
• Ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy.
• Check and match tags to bills before bills are signed.
• Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes.
• Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials.
• Operate forklift and/or overhead crane to transport material.
• Communicate with sales, customers, truck drivers, and supervisor to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, late delivery, or nonconformance to specifications.
• Assist scale operator when needed.
• Clean and maintain housekeeping of shipping office.

As a Shipping Coordinator you will be an important part of the Steel Technologies team and critical to meeting our customer demands. You’re more than a shipping coordinator, you’re an ensuring the materials are all correct before they arrive at the customer's. Ultimately, you play an important role at Steel Technologies.

The schedule for this position in Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:00pm
