Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Shipping Coordinator III to manage packaging, labeling and shipping of finished goods, coordinating with transporters and internal teams. You’ll confirm invoices, log orders, and maintain records to support audits and reporting.

Requires HazMat certification, 2–4 years in global shipping, FAA/DOT audit experience, and proficiency with UPS/DHL/FedEx systems. Forklift experience is preferred; US citizenship and potential travel may apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• HAZMAT ground and air shipping certification required.
• 2–4 years of related experience, including 2 years in a global shipping environment.
• Experience supporting FAA and DOT audits and administrative support.
• Experience using UPS, DHL or FedEx online shipping systems.
• Forklift experience and/or certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Executes shipping processes including packaging, labeling and shipment of product
• Identifies shipping requirements and best routes and methods for delivery to meet customer requirements
• Coordinate shipments for commercial, DoD and international conveyance including all necessary documentation, schedule freight shipments with freight forwarders and carriers, verify shipments’ compliance integrity
• Performs administrative duties in support of activities related to the shipping of finished goods
• Identifies, tracks and maintains all necessary materials and documentation to support internal and external audits
• Demonstrates ability to handle shipping internationally and navigate requirements & restrictions
• Responsible for implementing best practices including safety requirements, maintaining desk procedures
• Works with Shipping Supervisor and Senior Shipping Clerk on all aspects of the operation
• Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations
• Receives little instruction on daily work & general instructions on newly introduced assignments

Worker Type Regular Job Description Summary The Shipping Coordinator III performs activities related to the packaging, labeling, and shipping of finished goods. Communicates and coordinates with transportation companies. Handles routine questions and problems and maintains open communication with other departments throughout the shipping/delivery cycle. Confirms the accuracy of invoices, bills and charges relative to the shipment of goods. Logs order information into the computer and files and distributes paperwork as necessary. Maintains records and generates reports for accounting and other areas.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

• High School Diploma or GED
• HAZMAT ground and air shipping certification
• 2 – 4 years of related experience; 2 years in a global shipping environment
• Experience supporting FAA and DOT audits as well as administrative support experience
• Experience utilizing UPS, DHL or FedEx online shipping system
• Prior forklift experience and/or certification is preferred

• Demonstrates ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-drive environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties

The salary range for this role is: $23 - $35
