Inotiv is seeking aShipping Coordinator to support quality product delivery and maintain a clean, safe work environment. The role emphasizes organization, accuracy, and collaboration with Customer Service, production, and barrier management teams.

Responsibilities include processing orders, maintaining inventory, and coordinating shipping schedules while contributing to continuous improvement and Lean initiatives. This is an on-site position with strong emphasis on teamwork and compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience with inventory systems and JDE preferred.

• Experience in a warehouse or shipping environment highly desirable.
• Strong English communication — reading, writing and speaking.

• Allocate, prioritize and distribute orders within the production area.
• Prepare and maintain shipping schedules and share with relevant teams.

Job description

Monday - Friday; day hours. We are seeking a Shipping Coordinator to join our dynamic team! This position will focus on quality product delivery to our customers. The person in this role will need to feel passionate and excel at organization, and support and maintain a clean, safe and compliant working environment. We are seeking someone that is hardworking, shows attention to detail, takes initiative, has a teamwork mentality and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to IACUC and AAALAC Guides.
• Maintain accurate inventory by performing inventory transactions, weekly cycle counts, and maintaining records of the perpetual barrier animal inventory using the inventory control system.
• Process all customer orders and associated documentation, working with the Customer Service Department and/or production personnel as directed to ensure all orders are accurately and timely processed.
• Prepare order documentation at the beginning of the process including pick lists and box labels or other documents as required and review them again for accuracy prior to shipping the order.
• Allocate, prioritize and distribute orders within the production area.
• Prepare and maintain and share shipping schedules.
• Coordinate this activity with the barrier management.
• Communicate shipping needs, issues and concerns to barrier management.
• Participate in weekly Production Meetings, with a focus on both meeting and level‑setting production goals.
• Communicate between barriers to support inventory requirements and to troubleshoot order fill issues.
• With the barrier team, regularly review best offers and lost orders to develop an action plan to address any issues or trends.
• Participate in the investigation and root cause analysis of deviations related to the order fulfillment process in the complaint management system.
• Train a backup team member(s) to support day‑to‑day shipping and inventory requirements to cover in your absence.
• Create user guides and/or reference documents as needed to support accurate order fulfillment.
• Coordinate area Health Monitoring/ Sentinel Schedule and Genetic Testing program with Technical Service Department and Geneticist, to include the completion of necessary paperwork and the submission of such to laboratory.
• Assist with sample collection as directed.
• Answer order inquiries, requests for animals not on inventory.
• Ability to process customer orders.
• Answering inquiries from Inventory Control via Email.
• Enter inventories and wean to stock in JDE.
• Remove animals from inventory using the Inventory Daily Loss Sheet in JDE.
• Daily checking of timed pregnant mated orders in JDE.
• Enter timed pregnant day 0s onto inventory available in JDE.
• Enter prewean sales in JDE.
• Enter mother with litter sales in JDE.
• Print and distribute inventory worksheets, route reports and inventory daily loss sheets.
• When required participate in operational process improvement changes using Lean / Six Sigma techniques and promote a continuous improvement environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Physical Demands

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion.
• Stand/walk on concrete for at least 2 hours at a time.
• Frequently bend, reach, push, pull, squat and lift.
• Strong English communication – reading, writing and oral.
• Training ability and documentation skills.
• Experience with inventory systems and JDE preferred.
• Experience in a warehouse or shipping environment highly desirable.
• This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person’s relevant experience and/or education level.
