Job summary

Drake-Williams Steel in Omaha, NE is seeking a Shipping/Delivery Coordinator to plan and manage material deliveries.

  • Make specific recommendations on changes in methods and transportation equipment that will improve customer service and reduce costs.

Salary Range: $23.00 - $30.00 Hourly


Job Shift: 1st Shift


Primary Purpose of this Position:

Coordinate the loading and delivery of materials per commitments to customers in a cost-effective manner. Keep customers informed of upcoming deliveries and delays. Handle customer inquiries and complaints.


Essential Job Functions:


  • Coordinate and schedule delivery personnel and equipment to ensure safe, cost effective and timely delivery of materials.

Physical Demands:


  • OCCASIONALLY over the course of the 8 to 12 hour work shift.

  • OCCASIONALLY over the course of the 8 to 12 hour work shift. The distances walked will range from a distance of a few feet to several hundred feet.

  • FREQUENTLY to CONTINOUSLY over the course of the 8 to 12 hour work shift.

  • weights up to 30 pounds OCCASIONALLY from floor to head level, which includes the various prints, books, binders, and papers utilized to perform the usual work duties.

  • weights up to 50 pounds RARELY to OCCASIONALLY from floor to chest level, which may include boxes of papers, books, etc.

  • OCCASIONALLY up to 10 feet to plug in equipment, retrieve dropped materials, etc.

  • Reach overhead OCCASIONALLY to retrieve books, supplies, etc.

  • Push and pull drawers open OCCASIONALLY to FREQUENTLY to retrieve tools or supplies.

  • Gross finger dexterity skills required operating the mouse utilized in the course of standard job duties. Fine finger dexterity is not required.


Non-Material Handling Demands


  • Employee is expected to work 40 hours a week.However, hours including overtime and weekends may be required based on Drake-Williams Steel’s needs.

Experience and Education Required:


  • High school degree or equivalent.

  • Minimum of three years experience in shipping and receiving.
