1st Shift Shipping Coordinator - Marysville, CA

American Wood Fibers (AWF) is a manufacturer of consumer and industrial products sold to multiple manufacturers as well as pet, agricultural, and home‑heating markets. AWF employs over 450 people across 11 locations and generates more than $100M in annual revenue.

We are seeking a candidate for the 1st Shift Shipping Coordinator role in the Marysville, CA plant.

Overall Objective:

Oversee and coordinate daily shipping and logistics operations, ensuring all customer and supplier requirements are met efficiently and accurately.

Job Responsibilities
  • Customer Service:
    • Collaborate closely with Sales, Transportation, and Operations teams to exceed customer expectations.
    • Deliver exceptional customer service and foster positive relationships with customers, suppliers, employees, and carriers.
    • Communicate updates to internal sales leadership and customers promptly to minimize potential costs or disruptions.
    • Coordinate shipment logistics with customers, production, and shipping teams for smooth operations.
  • Logistics:
    • Monitor and resolve delivery exceptions daily.
    • Perform accurate order entry and process shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading.
    • Follow data capture requirements (e.g., CRM systems) to ensure completeness and accuracy.
    • Ensure availability of shipping materials and verify all paperwork for compliance.
    • Support and train shipping personnel, including truck loaders.
    • Provide backup support for loading trucks and trailers.
    • Use Real Time Freight (RTF) to post loads, pickups, and deliveries.
    • Process re‑consignment and diversion requests.
    • Generate freight quotes and analyze key freight lane performance for cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Safety:
    • Follow all safety rules and participate in safety training.
    • Use PPE as required for all tasks performed.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties and special projects as assigned, including inventory counts, audits, and cross‑functional initiatives.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
  • Lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly, with occasional heavier items and assistance.
  • Frequent use of hands and arms to handle tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment (certification may be required).
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and exposure to dust.
  • Visual and auditory ability to perform job duties safely, including reading labels and hearing alarms.
  • Occasional climbing, kneeling, or crouching during loading/unloading or inventory activities.
Qualifications
