Job summary

Gunnebo Group in Milford, OH seeks an entry level Shipping Coordinator to support the Shipping Lead and Management. You will coordinate outbound duties, prepare bills of lading, perform data entry in Sage, and ensure on-time shipments while maintaining accurate documentation.

Responsibilities include scheduling carrier pick-ups, keeping shipping materials stocked, following Lean/5S practices, and communicating clearly with internal teams.

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school education and two years of factory-related experience in shipping/receiving.
  • Experience in a warehouse or shipping/receiving role is a plus.
  • Must read/write English, follow verbal instructions, and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out shipping responsibilities in the ERP system.
  • Schedule carrier pick-ups as per customer PO or company procedures.
  • Ensure final inspections and proper paperwork with sign-offs from Operations.
  • Maintain adequate supply of shipping materials and forward requisitions for materials.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.

Job description

Our entry level Shipping Coordinator assists the Shipping Lead and Management by coordinating all outbound duties. The role collaborates with internal departments to ensure promise dates are met, organizes and arranges daily freight, coordinates freight pickups with carriers, and performs all needed entries within Sage to ship and invoice shipments. Ensure documentation accuracy and on time shipment of products so that they flow smoothly.

What You Will Do
  • Carry out shipping responsibilities, including completing required tasks in the ERP system using a computer terminal.
  • Schedule timely pick-up by the carrier specified on the customer’s purchase order or follow alternative company procedures if customer does not specify.
  • Ensure final inspections and proper paperwork with signoffs from Operations is complete.
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the supervisor.
  • Responsible for always keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand.
  • Required to forward a requisition for shipping materials to the Department Supervisor for approval.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment in accordance with all safety regulations.
  • Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment while adhering to all incident and accident reporting procedures.
  • Participate in Lean initiatives and Kaizen/5S protocols, ensuring all processes and procedures are followed.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to details and good organizational skills
  • Follow company safety and housekeeping requirements.
  • Excellent Attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Who we are looking for:
  • Minimum of a high school education and two years of factory related experience in similar role in shipping and receiving.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or shipping/receiving role are a plus.
  • Required to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math.
  • Must utilize computer for basic data entry related to shipping tasks
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
Specific Knowledge and skills
  • Must be able to correctly complete bills of lading and be familiar with various forms that are used and required by the major freight carriers.
  • Must be capable of estimating weight and use that information to calculate the cost of shipping.
  • Must be familiar with proper packaging methods and able to interpret visual aids used to convey specific packaging requirements.
  • Must be familiar with the most common material handling equipment and be a licensed forklift truck operator.
  • Experience with UPS/FEDEX online software is desirable.
