Job summary

Charles Industries, An Amphenol Company is seeking a Shipping Coordinator to manage outbound shipments and ensure accurate, timely delivery of customer orders. The role involves preparing shipping documentation, loading and organizing bills of lading, and maintaining ERP-based shipment records.

You will troubleshoot delays with carriers, ensure compliance with regulations, and operate warehouse equipment as needed. A high school diploma and 3 years of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years related shipping/logistics experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and MRP/ERP systems.
  • Forklift certification preferred but not required for every shift.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare shipping documentation including bills of lading, packing slips, and invoices.
  • Coordinate preparation of export documents and licenses as needed.
  • Use ERP/ERP-like systems to record and track shipping transactions.
  • Troubleshoot delays with carriers and communicate with customers.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and handle special documentation.
  • Operate forklift or hand truck to move shipments and pallets.
  • Maintain and perform routine maintenance on warehouse equipment and shipping systems.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and executing all outbound shipment activities through the company system to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely delivery of customer orders.


Supervisory Responsibilities:


  • None.


Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Prepare shipping documentation and process orders.

  • Coordinate the preparation and organization of bills of lading, packing slips, invoices, and required export licenses or compliance documents.

  • Utilize ERP or other systems to record and track all shipping transactions.

  • Troubleshoot shipping delays or changes with carriers and communicates to customers.

  • Ensure shipping protocols and documentation meet regulatory requirements or special handling.

  • Investigate and resolve shipping non-conformance.

  • Operate the forklift truck/picker or use the hand truck to pick and transport parts and shipments.

  • Maintain all warehouse equipment and shipping systems (FedEx, UPS, GP, WMS) in proper working order and perform routine maintenance as required.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Ability to apply concepts of algebra.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents.

  • Define problems and troubleshoot situations using strong conceptual thinking abilities.

  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment and mechanical equipment and tools.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.


Education and Experience:


  • High school diplom or GED.

  • At least 3 years of related experience.

  • DOT Hazmat Transportation training preferred.

  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office Systems.

  • Working knowledge of MRP or similar software programs.

  • Ability to operate FedEx, UPS, and LTL online portals.

  • Experience with the use of forklift trucks and/or pickers. Forklift certification is preferred.


Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35-50 pounds. Charles Industries weight rule: 35 lbs. and under can be lifted alone. 35 - 50 lbs. can be lifted by one person if they feel comfortable doing so. 50 lbs. or more requires the employee to get assistance or use a lifting device. (i.e. pallet jack, forklift, scissor table, buddy system).


Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential job functions.



  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
