Job summary

MMI Engineered Solutions is seeking a Shipping Clerk to join our Operations team in Saline, Michigan. You will manage shipping, maintain records, and support hands-on work including forklift loading/unloading to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.

The role requires 3–5 years in shipping/receiving, forklift experience, and strong organization. Shift is Monday–Friday, 2:00pm–10:30pm, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years shipping/receiving experience.
• 2 years supervisory experience preferred.
• Forklift experience required.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Able to work independently within a team.
• Experience scanning, sorting, pulling, packing, loading stock.
• Clear communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Communicate priorities and shipment status between Shipping Clerks and Shippers.
• Manage shipment of products, materials, and supplies with scheduling, tracking, and docs.
• Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Send Advance Shipping Notifications (ASN) to customers.
• Ensure First-In, First-Out for outgoing finished goods.
• Track, trace, and update shipment status.
• Load/unload trucks using a forklift and ensure safe handling.
• Maintain a clean, organized shipping area.
• Support urgent orders to ship within 24 hours.
• Prevent shipments not meeting quality standards or in substandard containers.

You'll maintain shipment records, and support the team with hands‑on work, including loading and unloading trucks. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will directly impact on‑time delivery and customer satisfaction.

Shift Schedule: Monday-Friday 2:00pm-10:30pm

Key Responsibilities:

• Communicate priorities and shipment status clearly between Shipping Clerks and Shippers.
• Manage the shipment of all products, materials, and supplies, including scheduling, tracking, and documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments.

• Ensure FIFO (First‑In, First‑Out) practices for all outgoing finished goods.
• Track, trace, and update the status of shipments.

• Support urgent orders to ensure shipments leave within 24 hours.
• Prevent shipments that do not meet quality standards or are in substandard containers.

• Responsible for ensuring all products meet quality standards before shipping.
