Job description

Starting pay up to $18.00 / hr, based upon experience

Introduction

The Shipping Clerk will be a team player with a strong sense of customer service, able to prioritize workload efficiently, and maintain a neat and tidy shipping area. Responsibilities include receiving WIP to Finished Goods (FG), determining shipments, and ensuring goods are shipped safely. Maintaining an organized, well-labeled FG stock area is critical to reduce time searching for parts and to prevent damage.

Key Responsibilities

• Process daily FG receipts from production, including prepacking and staging when possible.
• Label and store FG inventory properly, using Lewis bins with lids when available, to avoid damage.
• Research and resolve inventory and shipping discrepancies, working with the Sales department and Operations Manager to address any issues.
• Pull FG parts needed for daily shipments, always from oldest to newest stock.
• Maintain appropriate packaging material levels and notify the Inventory Supervisor when reordering is needed.
• Work independently as a reliable employee, meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Perform daily cycle counts and report to Supervisor.
• Follow procedures accurately and work productively in repetitive tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

Core Requirements

• GED or High School diploma preferred, but not required.
• Two to three years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent education and experience.
• Strong computer skills, including experience with ERP systems, MS Excel, and MS Word.
• Familiarity with third-party shipping systems (UPS, FedEx, DHL) is a plus.
• Experience with international shipping and customs paperwork is preferred.
• Ability to operate warehouse machinery such as forklifts.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and administrative skills.
• Integrity, leadership, and exemplary customer care skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, detail-oriented, and multitasking abilities.
