Emerson Electric Co. is seeking a Shipping Clerk in Louisville, KY to handle the shipping of GO Switch and Switchbox products and ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires at least a high school diploma, 2+ years in warehouse/shipping, experience with ERP systems and parcel software, and forklift operation. The successful candidate will maintain accuracy in documentation and packaging, and may work split shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of warehouse, inventory, or shipping experience preferred.
• Experience with ERP and parcel shipping software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer-based systems.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and sit/stand up to 10 hours daily.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Verifies the accuracy of outgoing shipments and orders.
• Computes duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight, and volume for exports.
• Processes US and international paperwork for transaction completeness and accuracy.
• Ensures safety techniques are used in daily work.
• Reads customer orders to identify items to pull and fulfill orders per specifications.
• Packages orders using appropriate containers and packaging.
• Operates standard or automatic equipment such as scales and tape machines.
• Works split shifts when required.
• Prepares orders for shipment with secure packaging and documentation.
• Reports accurately and ensures on-time shipments.
• Completes other assignments given by management.

Job description

To maintain superior customer focus, we are seeking a Shipping Clerk to join our team. This position will be responsible for the shipping of our GO Switch and Switchbox products as specified to meet order requirements and on-time delivery of those products. For the right candidate, this role can lead to other challenging opportunities in our supply chain in Louisville, or perhaps within the vast Emerson network of companies around the world!

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Verifies the accuracy of outgoing shipments and orders
• Computes duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight, and volume of product that is exported to foreign counties
• Processes US and International paperwork for transaction completeness and accuracy
• Ensures that safety techniques are used in all aspects of daily work responsibilities
• Receives and reads customer order to identify item(s) to be pulled
• Fills customers' orders in accordance with specifications on order form
• Packages orders using appropriate shipping containers and packaging
• Operates standard or automatic machines, such as electronic scales and tapes machines
• Is able to work split shifts, when required
• Accurately prepares orders for shipment to include secure packaging and wrapping
• Responsible for accurate shipments (product and documentation)
• Responsible accurate reporting and on-time shipments of customer product as required
• Completes other assignments as assigned by management or designate

For this role you will need:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of two years of warehouse, inventory, or shipping experience
• Experience using ERP systems (e.g., Oracle) and parcel shipping software (e.g., UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, or DHL Easyship)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and general computer-based systems
• Forklift operation experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to lift 40 pounds intermittently
• Ability to sit and/or stand for up to 10 hours daily
• Ability to recognize when to elevate issues to management
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
