Allyn International is currently looking for a full-time Shipping Clerk in Deer Park, TX, to join our organization! Allyn International is a privately-held professional services firm established in 1992. We are dedicated to providing high-quality, customer-centric services and solutions for the global marketplace. Our core products include transportation management, logistics sourcing, freight forwarding, supply chain consulting, tax management, and customs compliance.

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for managing outbound shipment activities to meet business fulfillment requirements while aiming to reduce transportation costs and improve performance. This position works directly on-site at the client’s facility to ensure the smooth flow of goods, fulfilling internal and external customer demands timely, compliantly, and according to standard processes and client deliverables.

Work Schedule: 40 hours, Monday-Friday (Some weekend / after-hours support / on-call rotation required)

Work Hours: 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Compensation: $48,000-$50,000 annually; Weekend/after-hours bonus opportunities

Physical Demands: Standing, typing, long walks around warehouse, lifting, sliding, or wheeling packages up to 150 lbs.

Work Environment: Loud warehouse environment; steel-toed boots required (stipend provided)

Required Experience and Education:

  • Warehouse or shipping experience required
  • SAP experience preferred

Ideal Candidates Will Be Able To:

  • Resolve client and carrier issues with ease
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Analyze data to improve warehouse processes

Responsibilities:

  • Route and track all outbound cargo per customer requirements, including parcel, LTL, FTL, air, and ocean shipments
  • Provide quotes for outbound international and domestic orders
  • Communicate with shippers, brokers, customers to facilitate routing and minimize delays
  • Resolve shipping issues and inform clients of shipment problems
  • Support export documentation, including certificates of origin, customs invoices, packing lists, and AES filings
  • Use client designated TMS systems and interface with Logistics Execution Center (“LEC”)
  • Review purchase orders for correct Incoterms, end-user info, pricing, and shipping details
  • Verify shipment details, print packing slips, and send pre-alerts with customs documents
  • Coordinate pickup and shipping instructions with freight forwarders
  • Close shipments in SAP and track freight costs
  • Ensure shipments have left the facility and report discrepancies
  • Follow document retention procedures
  • Identify and capture cost-saving and value-added opportunities
  • Provide coverage during shift hours and support new employee training
