Job description

Responsibilities

• Checking in truck drivers
• Work closely with Shipping Coordinator and Supervisor on daily, weekly and monthly schedule
• Ensure all shipments receive the proper labeling and postal charges and are packaged to arrive safely
• Keep management and supervisors aware of product that missed shipment in order to maintain accurate information for production report out each day
• Practice customer service when interacting with other companies and clients and see to it all external parties receive a positive interaction with the company
• Verify all outgoing shipments to be accurate by comparing the invoice to order and ensuring all goods are in acceptable condition
• Prepare detailed and accurate invoices to accompany shipments and ensure all items are shipped to meet company standards
• Work with other shipping lead/supervisor to see that all invoices are handled promptly, and goods are shipped safely
• Membership in Teamsters Local 986 required.

The individual must have good communication skills. The ideal candidate will be a team player, with a positive and a drive for innovation. Need to have a working knowledge of measurement tools (tape measure, calipers, and protractor) other measuring tools a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
• NEED TO HAVE PROVEN WORK EXPERIENCE AS A SHIPPING CLERK OR SIMILAR ROLE.
• FLEXIBILITY TO WORK DIFFERENT HOURS.
• ABILITY TO MULTITASK AND PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO DETAIL IN A FAST-PACED ENVIRONMENT.
• A HIGH SCHOOL QUALIFICATION OR EQUIVALENT.

Must join Teamsters Local 986.

Compensation $21.40 - $22.10 an hour

PREFERRED SKILLS:
• Strong computer skill, shipping software and Microsoft Office.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work independently and within a team.
• Strong sense of time organization and urgency.
