Job summary

Omnimax Careers is seeking a Shipping B Operator to accurately fulfill, assemble, and prepare outbound orders in a fast-paced warehouse. The role uses order pickers, forklifts, and other material-handling machinery while adhering to Local 169 union guidelines and OSHA standards.

Responsibilities include pulling orders, securing skids, labeling and wrapping products, and ensuring inventory accuracy. Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license and be able to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
  • Certified OSHA Order Picker Operator (Written & Practical) required.
  • Lift up to 10 lbs, 2/3 of the time; up to 20 lbs, 1/3–2/3 of the time; up to 50 lbs, 1/3 of the time; over 50 lbs up to 1/3 of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Pull assigned orders and assemble products onto skids.
  • Label and wrap skidded products; ship skidded products out.
  • Record pulled orders accurately and maintain inventory logs.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleanliness checks on equipment.
  • Follow OSHA standards and union guidelines Local 169 in daily operations.

Job description

The Shipping B Operator handles accurate fulfillment, assembly, and preparation of outbound customer orders in a fast‑paced warehouse. Operating in compliance with Local 169 union guidelines and OSHA standards, this role utilizes material‑handling machinery to pull stock, secure skids with wrap, and safely transport heavy products. The operator maintains inventory accuracy, documents order logs, returns unused items, and performs routine preventive maintenance and cleanliness checks on assigned equipment.

  • Maintain order pickers safely.
  • Check machine/forklift water levels.
  • Maintain order pickers cleanliness and water levels.
  • Follow forklift OSHA standards.
  • Pass OSHA demonstration tests.
  • Hold valid driver's license.

  • Pull assigned orders correctly.

Education and/or Experience
Required
  • High school or GED required.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
  • Must have present skill and ability to operate an order picker (Certified OSHA Order Picker Operator (Written & Practical)).
  • Lift up to 10 lbs, 2/3 of the time.
  • Lift up to 20 lbs, 1/3-2/3 of the time.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs 1/3 of the time.
  • Lift over 50 lbs up to 1/3 of the time.
Preferred
  • 1-2 years of prior experience working in a high-volume warehouse, distribution center, or industrial manufacturing facility.
  • Proven track record of operating heavy material‑handling machinery, specifically order pickers, cherry pickers, or reach trucks, within a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with OSHA requirements and environmental regulations.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills.

Work Conditions

This position operates in both office and manufacturing environments.

  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical equipment, forklifts, and warehouse traffic.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures and manufacturing conditions.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel‑toed footwear.
  • Moderate to high noise levels are common in production areas.
