Oshkosh Corporation, parent company of Pierce Manufacturing, seeks a Material Handler I to support assembling and moving truck parts in a manufacturing setting. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and basic material handling tasks under supervision.
Ideal candidates will have prior manufacturing experience, forklift certification, and familiarity with inventory systems to ensure parts are tracked and stored correctly.
At Pierce Manufacturing, we build trucks that protect people and communities around the world. To our team, there is no room for anything less than providing the absolute best. Since 1913, building truck bodies on Model T Ford chassis in an old converted church has evolved to creating highly customized, carefully designed and engineering pumpers, aerials, tankers and rescue units that have no equal. Today, you'll find more than 30,000 Pierce apparatuses on the road that are making a difference in people's lives, every day. To us, every step in the process of building our trucks is personal. From innovation and expertise, to the customization and service. Our trucks are designed to perform under the toughest conditions.
In Materials I, the employees perform more general labor work and do many non-skilled tasks. Their main task consists of more manual work such as picking parts. They may utilize forklifts and tow motors to pick and transport parts to designated areas; however, employees should be forklift certified before operating a forklift. The employees may assist in inventory of parts and use a computer to locate parts when necessary. As long as the employee is capable of performing the physical work, he or she is likely able to perform the material handling tasks in Material Handler I. Material Handler I is the entry level for all Material Handling positions.
