Job Description

Pridestaff is currently seeking a Shipping Assistant for a steel manufacturing company located in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. This is a full-time, contract to permanent position with opportunities for growth. Please see the job requirements below to be considered.

• Pay Rate: $18-19
• Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:30am to 3pm

Job Duties: Assist the shipping coordinator with various tasks during the shipping process, such as gathering parts and assemblies, using the InfoSpring tank load builder (shipping app) to create pallets for easier QA tracking, wrapping pallets, and transporting materials from one warehouse to another.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Support the shipment of goods produced to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base.
• Assist the final inspector to ensure product quantities and part numbers match as specified on the job number, drawings, and the shipping list.
• Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
• Maintain an adequate supply of shipping materials at all times.
• Forward requisitions for shipping materials to the Department Supervisor for approval.
• Keep the work area and equipment clean and orderly, following safety regulations.
• Coordinate parts to be cleaned in preparation for coating processes.
• Participate in internal audits as part of the team in the grinding area.

Physical Demands:

• Stand for extended periods and walk continuously.
• Bend, kneel, crouch, reach, or crawl occasionally.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.

Job Requirements:

• At least 6 months to 1 year of warehousing and forklift experience.
• Ability to operate a propane sit-down forklift safely.
• Willingness to work outside yard to load and unload when needed.
• Assist in loading and unloading truck deliveries/pick-ups.
• Proficient in computer and industry software usage.
• Experience with inventory and cycle counting.
• Regular, predictable attendance is essential.
• Wear steel toe shoes or boots and PPE throughout the shift.
• Willing to submit to drug testing and a criminal background check prior to starting.
