Shipping AssistantJob DescriptionDepartment: Shipping & ReceivingJob Status: Full TimeFLSA Status: Hourly, Non ExemptReports To: Shipping ManagerLocation: Ponca City, OKAmount of Travel Required: N/AWork Schedule: Monday – Friday, 5:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.Positions Supervised: N/APOSITION SUMMARY:The Shipping Assistant is responsible for supporting daily shipping operations by verifying shipping documentation, preparing and packaging materials for shipment, and ensuring the safe and efficient movement of parts throughout the facility. This role works closely with supervisors and team members while developing knowledge of shipping processes and procedures.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word \"may\")Checks bills of lading for accuracy, including serial numbers, job order numbers, addresses, and weights.Moves parts and materials throughout the shop to appropriate locations.Operates forklifts, hoists, cherry pickers, and other lifting equipment as required.Builds crates and boxes for domestic and overseas shipments.Prepares parts for shipment using dipping, wrapping, and spraying for rust prevention.Loads trucks and secures loads properly for transport.Maintains consistent quality and productivity standards in packaging and shipping tasks.Receives and verifies parts from outside vendors, ensuring proper documentation.Moves parts into inventory and ensures proper stock placement.Monitors equipment usage and ensures forklifts and trucks receive routine maintenance.Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Performs other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.POSITION REQUIREMENTS:Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.Must be at least 18 years of age or older.Successfully passes all applicable general pre employment testing including but not limited to: background check, pre employment drug screening, pre employment fit tests, pre employment aptitude and/or competency assessment(s) and pre employment Pulmonary Function Test (PFT).In person, predictable attendance in Ponca City, OK.Overtime required based on business needs.Proficiency in spoken English language.Valid U.S. Driver’s License required.
