Job summary

Lamatek Inc. is seeking a dedicated Shipping Team member in West Deptford Township, NJ to perform duties related to receiving and shipping merchandise. Key responsibilities include verifying and organizing merchandise distribution, preparing related documents, and operating equipment such as forklifts.

This position offers starting pay of $19 per hour along with medical and dental options, retirement plans, and paid vacation.

Job description

Join our Shipping Team! Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, performs duties related to receiving and shipping merchandise. Verifies merchandise and organizes its distribution. Prepares related documents.

8:30AM – 5PM with lunch break

• Receives merchandise. Checks and signs delivery slips. Assists with unloading as necessary. Unpacks merchandise. Verifies the quality and quantity of items against supporting documents. Accepts or returns merchandise according to established procedures. Affixes labels and security tags as necessary.
• Ship merchandise. Pick product and pack for safe shipment. Complete shipping documents and label.
• Completes forms, prepares documents and maintains files.
• Organizes distribution and shipping of merchandise. Makes necessary verifications against documents, prepares the merchandise and moves to the appropriate area.
• Participates in taking inventory. Maintains warehouse area, organizes and places stock on shelves. Ensures area is secure at all times.

Supplemental Functions and Responsibilities:

• Operate forklift and pallet jack.

Responsibilities:

• Know the formal and informal goals, standards, policies and procedures, which may include some familiarity of other departments within the company.
• Be sensitive to the interrelationship of both people and functions within the department.

Communication Expectations:

• Exchange routine information using tact and persuasion as appropriate, requiring good oral and written skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers; talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
