Job summary

American Rheinmetall is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Clerk in Michigan to verify incoming and outgoing shipments, label crates, and coordinate with shippers.

Required are a high school diploma or GED and 3–5 years related experience; familiarity with AS9100/IS14001, good problem-solving, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. This role emphasizes punctuality, safety, and accurate record keeping in support of our logistics operations.

Responsibilities

• Verify shipment information against bills, invoices, orders and records.
• Affix shipping labels on packed cartons.
• Nail covers on crates and bind containers.
• Stamps or glues shipping information onto crates.
• Post weights and shipping charges; affix postage.
• Unpack shipments, note shortages, and coordinate with shipper.
• Inspect outgoing shipments for spec compliance.
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials.
• Oversee movement on the shipping dock and loading/unloading.
• Coordinate material movement from dock to warehouse.
• Coordinate inter-company shipments between plants.
• Receive incoming shipments into PLEX system.

Summary Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned

• Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
• Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
• Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape.
• Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
• Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
• Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
• Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Oversees the movement of material on the shipping dock and the loading/unloading of trucks.
• Coordinates material movement from the dock to material warehouse.
• Coordinates all inter-company shipments & receipts between plants.
• Receives all incoming shipments into PLEX receiving system.

Education and/or Experience
